“A LITTLE CHAPTER HISTORY”
In June of 2012 our chapter will celebrate its 11th anniversary having formed at a
meeting in June of 2001 at the Destiny RV Park in Denton, Texas. After getting
acquainted Friday evening, and by recruiting a member living full time in the RV
Park, Saturday evening we had the required 20 signatures to officially apply for the
chapter’s charter with Family Motor Coach Association (FMCA).
The chapter’s mission is to have fun with motorhome related activities. The
membership scope chosen was North Texas and Southern Oklahoma. Though we
have always had some “Okies”, most of the chapters members reside in the North
Texas Area.
The chapter usually has seven or eight weekend rallies each year at various
locations throughout Texas and Oklahoma. Occasionally one or two more distant
locations are chosen in South Texas, Colorado, New Mexico or Arkansas. In
summer or winter it is not unusual to find a small group of our members getting
together to travel to a cooler or warmer location to enjoy the season.
The chapter membership the past two or three years has been holding a little over
60 coaches. The Red River Rover Chapter is open to everyone who is a member of
FMCA. We invite anyone interested in joining our chapter to contact the
Membership Chairman for a Member Application Form.
